MDCSB9 - Scrapbook Monday - A Chorus of Carols

Good afternoon and thanks so much for stopping by MDC! This is an exciting week for us - there is a lot to cover so please stay tuned for a great surprise at the end of this post!

First, we would like to showcase a beautiful page submitted to us for last week's sketch challenge by Kristen:

What a beautiful job! Thanks so much for playing along with us!

This week we brought our designers together for an inspiration challenge - the challenge this week is to make a page based on a favorite holiday tune or carol. For those who want to play along, this is not limited to Christmas - please feel free to share a page based on whatever holiday you celebrate :) For several of our designers these are their first layouts as part of the MDC team - we hope you'll join us in congratulating them on their beautiful work!!

April Dycus

April used papers and embellishments from the Imaginisce Snowy Jo collection.

Maria Levine - Ria Creations

Maria used beautiful glittered paper from Best Creations.

Mia Montalvan-Castrillo - Scrappin Mama Mia

Mia used paper and embellishments from My Little Yellow Bicycle's Christmas Magic collection, and ribbon from May Arts.

Renee Griffith - Lasting Memories

Renee used papers from My Little Yellow Bicycle's Christmas Magic collection and Scenic Route.

Robin Wade - Creating Memories One Moment at a Time

Robin used paper from Imaginisce and gems from Kaiser.

Wow, way to go ladies!! We were so excited to open all your emails and revel in the first glimpses of what is to come!

How about a special give away to celebrate our new designers? The first person to leave a comment correctly identifying the songs that inspired our artists will win this beautiful stamp set from Imaginisce:

And now for a special surprise treat - we have a guest designer this week!! You may have seen some of Jennifer's work as she played along with some of our challenges... she is so talented and creative! We were thrilled when she agreed to be our very first guest designer! Here is a little about Jennifer Beason:

Hello everyone, my name is Jennifer. I live in beautiful Florida with my wonderful husband and three kids, Demetrius 17, Jaiden 4 and Jacob 2 1/2.

I was so excited to be asked to be a guest designer for "Mothers and Daughters Creations" this month. Since I found the site back in October I've been playing along with the challenges when I get the chance. It's very cool to be part of the team for a day - Thanks for having me guys!!!

I have been paper crafting for about four years, and love all aspects of it, from scrapbooking and card making, to altering any and everything. I also love to draw and often get to use my designs in my cards and layouts. I have been blessed by being on various design teams and published in magazines such as BHG Holiday Crafts, Cards and Paper Trends. My latest crafting adventure is creating for the Helmar USA design team.

Here is Jennifer's take on our challenge this week:

Jennifer used papers from Daisy Bucket's Merry Wishes line. Wow, what a cute idea - thanks so much for creating with our team this week! Don't forget to include Jennifer's project in your submissio

We hope you will play along with us this week! Be sure to leave a comment here with a link to your creation on your blog... and please use key word MDCSB9 if you upload to Splitcoast Stampers or Paper Craft Planet - happy creating!

Thanks for showcasing my layout this week. I so appreciated it. I just love this blog and the DT's layouts are just beautiful! Jennifer's take on the challenge is just awesome! I hope I can find the time to play this week. As for the songs, I am going to guess, O Christmas Tree (O Tannebaum), Jingle Bells, Let it snow, White Christmas, and this one was tricky, I Believe in Santa Claus.

Oooh.... I think the snowflakes were either from My Little Yellow Bicycle or Imaginisce... both are available at our store:)
