Check Out the Talent!!

Good evening! I tried and tried to create a cool slideshow to showcase some of our favorite entries over the past few weeks, but I couldn't get it to work, so we'll have to do this the old fashioned way! We've been so awed by all the talent we've seen over the past few weeks. We really want to thank everyone so much for participating in our challenges and inspiring us! It took a long time for us to go through all of your awesome entries, but we wanted to take a few moments to announce some of the prize winners and share some other awesome entries with you as well!

Our first challenge for the scrapbooking design team call was to follow a sketch created by Julie Bonner at 52 Weeks 52 Sketches. There were many exciting entries, but we finally decided on a winner:

Michelle! Please contact Tamara at MDCreations.tlm@gmail.com to get your prize!!! Here is Michelle's layout: Babu Got It

And here are our Honorable Mentions:

Lynn Anne: Hayride

Robin - Trick or Treat

And here are some other beautiful entries:

Lori: To Cool To Ghoul

Melita - Patience

Alyssa: What?

Dawn Marie - Family

Kathryn - Not So Scary

Congratulations to all of you - your layouts are true works of art!

Next, back on the 16th we had an inspiration challenge based on a beautiful mug. This challenge was issued in our cardmaking challenge, but we had several scrapbookers try their hand as well! It was too hard to pick between them, so we have TWO winners for our inspiration challenge! First, our winner under the card category - Carla! Her card was unbelievably close to the actual mug - congratulations Carla! Please email me at MDCreations.tlm@gmail.com to get your prize!!

Among the scrapbooking entries, we were particularly inspired by Jenni! Here is her beautiful layout:

Jenni did a beautiful altered project inspired by the challenge as well:

Make sure you email me to get your prize, Jenni!

Now, last week we had a very fun challenge to create an altered Halloween item which included some pictures. Out of the entries we received, one really stood out - check out Jenni's before picture:

And look what she created:

All we could say was -- Wow! How creative to start off with one Halloween shape and turn it into a whole complete other shape!! Great job, Jenni, and thanks so much for playing along with us! But we also loved a lot of the other entries - check in tomorrow to see some of those!
This week, our challenge is to create a page which incorporates some sort of peek-a-boo element; either hidden journaling, or a door or flap of some kind. Our design team had a lot of fun ideas - see what they created:

April Dycus

April used papers from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie line.

Laurie Rodick - Lovin' My Life

Laurie used papers from Imaginisce's Fairest of Them All line.

Cards Week 16 - Puttin on the glitz!!

Good evening everyone! We apologize for the late posting of today's challenge - we had major computer problems today and both computers we have were down! Luckily we finally got one up so we can get on to today's challenge!

Today we decided to make fall cards and incorporate some glitz; either stickles or pearl-ex or glittered cardstock; basically anything goes as long as there's some glitz somewhere on the card! Check out the beautiful samples from our design team:

Scrapbooking Week 2 - Altered Halloween Project

Good afternoon everyone! I'm so sorry for the late post - especially when we've got such great projects to share!

First of all, we want to say how much we've enjoyed going through everyone's DT entries so far, and all the challenge pieces! I'm going to share some of those with you a little later, they're just too good to keep to ourselves! And, of course, we need to announce last week's winner - she will be posted a little later as well!

Our scrapbooking challenge for this week is to make an altered Halloween project that incorporates pictures! Altered items are so fun - I love the way they bring our scrapbooking off the page and into our homes for everyone to see! Check out the awesome samples the design team came up with this week:

Maria Levine - Riacreations

Maria decorated a frame using papers from My Little Yellow Bicycle and a Serendipity stamp.

Laurie Rodick - Lovin My Life

Laurie decorated a mini album using papers from the Imaginisce Hallowhimsy line, along with the toe tags and rub-ons.

April Dycus

April decorated a Sara binder with papers from Best Creations and the littie haunted house from the Imaginisce Hallowhimsy line.

Tamara McKlveen - MDC, Tamara's Page

Tamara decorated a photo cube with papers from My Little Yellow Bicycle, and decorated the box with their flocked stickers and borders.

Wow, everyone did such a beautiful job! And, as always, you can play too! Just post a link here in the comment section to your blog or gallery - we can't wait to see your creative ideas! Don't forget - we're still accepting applications for our scrapbook design team! Check out all the details in this post. Thanks so much for stopping by MDC today - happy creating!

Cards Week 15 - Inspiration

Welcome back to Mothers and Daughters Creations! We have a really fun inspiration challenge for you this week, but before we get to that I want to congratulate last week's winner, melita! Look at this cute treat box she created:

Thanks so much to everyone who played - melita, be sure to email me (MDCreations.tlm@gmail.com) with your address so I can get you your new stamp set!!

This week, Linda chose this beautiful cup as an inspiration piece:

Can I just say, I really LOVE inspiration challenges! There are so many ways you can go - you can pick from the colors, or the shapes, or the images on the inspiration piece... so many possibilities! I love that everyone sees the same image and is able to pull something different out of it - what a way to showcase the creativity and talent of each person! Look at the awesome cards our design team came up with today... can you see where they got their ideas?

Of course, we have another fun give away this week - this awesome table top trash bin from Croppin Companion:

This has got to be one of my favorite organization tools!! They fold down flat, so they're great to take with you if you're stamping at an event, but I use mine at home too because they're so convenient!

So, a little reminder, we have TWO design team posts going on!! One is happening RIGHT NOW and it is for our scrapbooking team. Look here if you want to see all the details. We are also having a post for our card design team in November, but start playing as many challenges as you can because we really want to see how quick and consistent your work is!

We hope you're INSPIRED by this week's challenge - we can't wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by!
