MDCC25 - Card Thursdays - Thanks for the Memories!

Here we are - our very last challenge for 2008! Once again we've had such fun sharing our challenges with you and seeing such incredible creations each week! Thanks to everyone who shared this year's journey with us!

This week our challenge is to create a Holiday thank you card to send to someone special. Our design team made some BEAUTIFUL samples to share with you - check them out:

Cathy Wieder - Seaside Rose Cottage

Cathy's cards were made using Melissa Frances paper, a stamp from Imaginisce, and ribbon from May Arts.

Giovana's cards were made using paper from Best Creations and My Little Yellow Bicycle, along with ribbon from May Arts and liquid pearl from Ranger.

Leah Cornelius - Paper Blossoms

Leah used paper and stamps from Daisy Bucket, and a Stampavie stamp.

Melissa Earnest - Mme Designs

Melissa's card was made using paper from Daisy Bucket and a stamp from Stampavie.

Maria Levine - Ria Creations

Maria used a Serendipity stamp, paper from My Little Yellow Bicycle, and ribbon from May Arts.

A BIG thank you goes out to our talented design team - they do such wonderful work for our store :) And, since it IS the beginning of a new year, we thought it only appropriate to offer a great prize - one lucky winner this week will win the mailbox stamp that Maria used in her card!

MDCSB12 - Scrapbook Mondays - Takin Out the Trash

Here it is the last week of 2008! We hope you have some good memories to take with you to 2009 - we sure do. We have enjoyed our first year in business and have met some wonderful and talented people along the way. For this weeks challenge we are going to 'Take out the trash' and make room for new and exciting things to come. To complete the challenge, create a page using leftover scraps, odds and ends, and embellishments. Be sure to leave us a comment with a link to your creation and use the Label MDCSB12 if you upload to Split Coast or Paper Craft Planet. Below are the pages our design team created for you!

MDCC24 - Happy Holidays! A Gift for You...

Happy Holidays to you and yours! We're taking the week off here at MDC to spend some time with our family and celebrate, and we also want you to spend time with yours, so there won't be a challenge for our readers. However, as a little holiday gift for you our design team did come up with some fabulous holiday ornaments to share... we hope you enjoy them and have a very special day with your family!

MDCSB11 - Monday Scrapbooking - Wrap It Up!

Welcome to the Monday Scrapbook challenge at Mothers and Daughters Creations!

I'm sure many of us are struggling to pull the last minute details together for the holidays, so for today's challenge we're going to start to Wrap It Up!! Cover chipboard with paper, use bows to decorate, add ribbons and tags... however you do it, we'd love to see it!

Have a look at the fabulous samples our design team has created:
April Dycus created this sample using paper from SEI, Alpine Frost and chipboard birds from Scenic Route which she covered with SEI paper. She also used a beautiful felt sticker from Prima.

Maria Levine - Ria Creations

Maria used paper from My Little Yellow Bicycle and covered a piece of chipboard from Imaginisce! The cute little mouse is stamped with a stamp by Stampavie.

Robin covered this cute journal with papers from Daisy Bucket - the Playful Petals collection!

Laurie Rodick - Lovin My Life

Laurie used paper from Daisy Bucket's Merry Wishes line and added wrapped pressies to her layout!

Cathy created two pages using Imaginisce papers from the "Fairest of them All", collection and Snag'em Stamps from the "Baby Powder" collection. Note the cute ways she created to close the packages which hide the photos and journaling!

We hope you have enjoyed our designers creations! If you have a chance to play along, please be sure to leave a comment here and use label MDCSB11 if you upload to Split Coast Stampers or PaperCraft Planet.

MDCC23 - Thursday Cards - Inspiration

Good afternoon everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by MDC! Last week our very own Maria created a fun sketch for everyone to use and I have to say, it looks like everyone had a blast! Check out last week's winning card from CarlzCardz:

I love the way she used negative space for the four square elements of the card - very unique! Congratulations, and please be sure to email me with your address so you can collect your prize!
This week we decided to do an inspiration piece based on the following photograph:

Keep in mind, you don't have to use the colors or be limited in any kind of way - all you have to do is take what inspires you and turn it into a great card! Our design team members did an awesome job as usual! Check out their samples below:

And now for a special surprise treat - we have a guest designer this week!! You may have seen some of Jennifer's work as she played along with some of our challenges... she is so talented and creative! We were thrilled when she agreed to be our very first guest designer! Here is a little about Jennifer Beason:

Hello everyone, my name is Jennifer. I live in beautiful Florida with my wonderful husband and three kids, Demetrius 17, Jaiden 4 and Jacob 2 1/2.

I was so excited to be asked to be a guest designer for "Mothers and Daughters Creations" this month. Since I found the site back in October I've been playing along with the challenges when I get the chance. It's very cool to be part of the team for a day - Thanks for having me guys!!!

I have been paper crafting for about four years, and love all aspects of it, from scrapbooking and card making, to altering any and everything. I also love to draw and often get to use my designs in my cards and layouts. I have been blessed by being on various design teams and published in magazines such as BHG Holiday Crafts, Cards and Paper Trends. My latest crafting adventure is creating for the Helmar USA design team.

Here is Jennifer's take on our challenge this week:

Jennifer used papers from Daisy Bucket's Merry Wishes line. Wow, what a cute idea - thanks so much for creating with our team this week! Don't forget to include Jennifer's project in your submissio

We hope you will play along with us this week! Be sure to leave a comment here with a link to your creation on your blog... and please use key word MDCSB9 if you upload to Splitcoast Stampers or Paper Craft Planet - happy creating!
